Effective Search Engine Optomisation Depends on Choosing the Best Keywords
The best keywords are those words and phrases commonly typed in by your potential customers, but which aren't used much on your competitors websites.
In other words, if you optimize your pages for keywords your potential customers use a lot, but your competitors haven't thought of, you win.
But here's the catch...you'll never get to know which are the best keywords for your website simply by guessing.
If you attempt to optomise your pages for words and phrases that are just your best guesses, you are losing potential customers and wasting valuable time.
To make sense of the time and money you spend on search engine optimization, you need to KNOW that the keywords you use will deliver results. |

What's the point of finding the best keywords?
A well-optimised Web page gets you a much higher listing in the major search engines like Google, Yahoo!, MSN, and AOL.
And yes, being in the top ten listings on the first page of search results will potential get you many, many more qualified visitors than if you are somewhere on the second page or lower. |

How we identify the best keywords for your site pages
We will show you which are the best keywords to use for the pages on your site.
Our suggestions are based on over 300 million keywords and phrases that people have used over the previous 30 days. (In other words, there is no "guessing". Everything is based on the keywords millions of people have actually typed into search engines.) We take the 5 words you give us and your website details and for each we look at the top ranking websites, from them we extract the keywords they are using and add them to the search.
Once we have a large word base we locate all the combinations and related search terms that people are using in search engines. From these results we build your keyword list, we also show the number of times that keyword has been used in the last 30 days and how many other competing webpages there are.
We also show the Keyword Effectiveness Indicator (KEI)of each keyword - WHAT???
The formula for Keyword Effectiveness Indicator (KEI) is KEI = (DS^2/C) = (DS/C * DS), where DS is the number of daily world searches and C is the competition. The KEI ranges from 0 to over 400.
< 0,001 = Poor keyword 0,002 - 0,010 = Good Keyword 0,011 - 0,100+ = Excellent Keyword
The higher the KEI ratio, the more popular your keywords are (more people are searching with those keywords), and the less competition they have (fewer web sites come up as relevant results in search engine results pages).
In simple terms the higher the KEI the more chance you have of getting people to your page. This may also show that targeting your main keyword will be difficult but targeting a secondary keyword will be much easier.
Many people have difficulty spelling, make typing mistakes when entering keywords or simply write words in a different way, for example, the word "colour" in the UK is written as "Color" in the US.
You can take advantage of this by targeting commonly misspelled keywords. These keywords are often far less competitive than the correctly spelled keyword.
Case study:
One of our clients wanted a website building to sell jewellery online. We quickly estabilished by doing a keyword report that getting to the top of the search engines for the keyword jewellery was going to be almost impossible. What we did find though was that there were lots of people looking for the jewellery designers she was selling, so we optomised her site for the designers keywords. The site is now No1 on Google for each of the designers. |
