Competition for keywords is fierce, so we avoid the most popular keyword phrases because you'll be competing with millions of other pages for a search engine's attention.
We look for keyword phrases that are common enough so the typical searcher will use them, but unique enough so they don't return millions of matches. you should collect your keyword/phrases BEFORE you start to build your website as they need to be built into the structure of the site.
We do this by taking keyword phrases from the website text and business context then use tools that show similar search phrases and the popularity of these phrases to determine the final keyword list, which may be different for each page.
These keywords should then be worked into the text and other areas of the page as effectively as possible to give the best keyword density for the page. It may be necessary for you to provide additional text for pages so that the optimum amount of text is presented on the page.
We don't advocate the use of "doorway" pages, which cram keywords on a page to rank highly on a search engine, with links to the main website. Doorway pages are frowned upon by the search engines, and whilst currently hard for them to detect, changes in the future may damage a site that uses them. We also believe that doorway pages are detrimental to the user's experience of the website.
