Payment options when using Actinic
Actinic can support the majority of payment options available in the UK. This can be a confusing area for people as each providor or bank has different features and charges. They range from downloading an order and the customer paying by cheque to payments being made directly into your bank account. |

Non-Credit Card
'Cheque on Delivery', 'Cash on Delivery', 'Invoice with Order', etc. These are payment methods where the payment details are sorted out by directly contact with the customer after receiving the order. |

Credit card details captured for later processing
With this method, customers enter their credit card details into the Actinic store online. These details are then securely encrypted and downloaded with the order. You will then process these credit card details through your credit-card terminal. If you are using this method, then you need to organise security for your store. There are two security options: A - Use the inbuilt Actinic In-Built Encryption This method will provide a small Java applet in the checkout pages, which credit card details can be entered into. This applet encrypts the credit card details with bank-approved security levels. B - The most commonly-recognised method of securing your site is called 'SSL' ('Secure Sockets Layer'). SSL protects your online store by ensuring that any information travelling between the web site and the customer is encrypted whilst in transit. You can tell if you are using an SSL connection, because a 'golden padlock' (or 'golden key') will appear in the browser window. You will need to contact your host to arrange SSL or you can use the Actinic Shared SSL |
